Community meeting coming 1-16-2023
April 20, 2022 - Planting Agaves at 107th and Peoria.
After much planning and working with Maricopa County, Ronn Enzweiler's Events Team saw the completion of the agave planting at 107th and Peoria in Sun City. This median, located just south of the intersection, used to house old dead cactus and vermin. Now, thanks to the PRIDES perseverance and partnership with Maricopa County, it is home to beautiful new landscaping and many hardy agave plants. An added bonus is that based on how agaves like to sprout new "babies" this area will also become a great harvest site for future plants. Enjoy a few pictures and a video from the event below:

May 15, 2022 - PRIDES use ECO Friendly garbage bags
PRIDES of Sun City
The Proud Residents Independently Donating Essential Services continue their efforts to improve clean up while working towards eliminating harmful plastic garbage bags manufactured with petroleum’s.
Sun City Residents recognize the “Orange Bags” and immediately know the PRIDES volunteers have been out cleaning plant debris and garbage waste that ends up on our city streets.
The Prides have been working with MCDOT in the past months to try an environmentally friendly bag that is petroleum free. As long as the PRIDES are helping our community with their cleanup efforts, what happens in the land fill should also be considered because we all care about the environmental future.
As a resident of Sun City, have you ever thought about the Volunteers and how many bags of debris and trash are filled as a result of their efforts to clean up the city streets? Well in a busy month at any given time the PRIDES uses up to 200 bags per month. That count alone is allot of petroleum-based bags going in to landfills.
First attempt on a recent Saturday near 111th & Alabama with a PRIDES Saturday squad, leaves behind a new “Green Bag” for county’s pick up. Our first effort has left us requesting a stronger bag, as the first test of bags tore easily. It does our volunteers no good to fill bags with debris to have them tear or rip and have to start all over again. The goal is finding a bio degradable garbage bag that works!
As work continues on testing different quality eco-friendly, bio degradable bags the residents will see variations of colors. Our “orange bag” may go away, but our color orange t shirts are here to stay. MCDOT is looking to test different quality bags as we move forward to a bag that will handle the weight of the debris being bagged. Not only is Sun City PRIDES assisting in the testing of the eco-friendly bag, other communities involved with MCDOT are as well
PRIDE is always welcoming new volunteers; we need your help. To become a volunteer visit suncityprides.org, and click on opportunities or call us at 623-972-6558 or e mail at suncityprides@gmail.com A member of our organization will return communication.
